under Jeff Johnson leadership
For Release Thursday, March 31, 2005
NASHVILLE - Bondware Inc. Founder Tim Choate today announced the appointment of Jeff Johnson, former vice president for information technology with InfoAdvantage Inc., to lead his company's newly formed Bondware Web Solutions (BWS) business unit.
Choate said the Bondware BWS mission is "to deliver affordable tools for non-technology executives who realize that online-commerce revenue and online communities are essential to their success, and who want to be able to simply 'turn on' a new e-commerce site overnight, and upgrade it with added features with just a few clicks, anytime they choose."
Choate said, "In launching the Bondware Web Solutions (BWS) division with Jeff Johnson as division vice-president, we are signaling Bondware Inc.'s commitment to providing accessible web-development and e-commerce tools that are easy to use by owners of smaller businesses, sole proprietorships, non-profit organizations and others who realize that they need online relationships with customers, members and constituents.
"Jeff will play a pivotal role in expanding the online community for developers who create new, affordable features for BWS sites," Choate explained. "We are drawing heavily on lessons learned through our other divisions -- Renderosity.com and Songramp.com. We have also recently introduced the third generation of Bondware core technology, and we believe Bondware BWS will also be a market leader."
Johnson said, "In the end, accepting this leadership role with Bondware Web Solutions was pretty easy, because of Bondware's entrepreneurial track record and by what I've observed of the rapid evolution of Bondware core technology in the past two years. The enthusiastic response our plans are receiving from current and potential customers, and from among e-commerce tool developers continues to reinforce our strategies."
Prior to his two-year stint with InfoAdvantage, Johnson served as a technology Program Manager and systems-integration Project Manager for FedEx. His earlier experiences included business-process reengineering, systems training, programming and customer-relations roles with Condor Technologies, an SAP software implementer. Previously, he served as a project leader for Price Waterhouse Coopers and as a database designer and tool developer with SEER Technologies. He also served two years in the U.S. Navy supply ranks, including time as a member of the crew of the aircraft carrier, USS America (CV-66).
Following military service, Johnson earned his B.S. in Management Information Systems at Florida State University, and is pursuing an M.B.A. at Belmont University.
In August 2004, Choate announced his intention to DEVELOP a third online community and marketplace for Bondware's core web solution technology product, which is centered around a database-driven, membership-based website business model, and which is now in version 3.0. Bondware's Songramp.com and Renderosity.com serve independent songwriter and computer-animation communities and marketplaces, respectively.
Choate also announced Bondware Inc.'s relocation to larger quarters at 531 Metroplex Drive, Suite 115-A, Nashville, TN 37211.
Johnson said Bondware 3.0 is now available on trial basis, for businesses seeking fully hosted e-commerce and community solutions. In addition, companies who want to host the PHP/MySQL-centered BWS technology on their own sites may license the core Bondware suite. Both full Bondware Web Solutions and licensed products are available for resale by affiliates, by arrangement.
